Mercedes-Benz has a long and storied history with the Jurassic Park series of movies that dates all the way back to 1997 when the M-Class starred in “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”. Never satisfied to simply rest on its laurels, Mercedes-Benz has once again been chosen to provide a number of vehicles to be featured in the all-new Jurassic World. This newest member of the Jurassic Park movies debuted on the 12th of June, 2015 and shattered a global record with a $500 million dollar opening weekend.
The M-Class is once again slated to be the most prominently featured Mercedes-Benz in the film. Thanks to its appearance in the 1997 blockbuster, the M-Class achieved world-wide recognition. Mercedes-Benz plans to use this year’s movie to showcase its entire range of SUVS, and throughout the movie viewers will be treated to the GLE450 AMG 4Matic® version. Mercedes-Benz will be trying to focus a significant amount of the attention on the GLE450 as it is the newest member of the family.
Plenty of Screen Time
According to information released by the film crew, the GLE450 AMG 4Matic® has a significant amount of screen time. The GLE seen in the movie is powered by a 3.0 liter twin turbocharged V6 that churns out a massive 362 horsepower and 384 foot-pounds of torque. Mercedes-Benz states that the new GLE450 is more than a match for the BMW X6.
This massive powerhouse is connected to a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission. This transmission features Dynamic Select and is connected to the SUV Coupe’s 4Matic all-wheel drive system that provides more than enough power to all wheels, perfect for the average day’s work at this famed dinosaur-themed park.
The movie is directed by Colin Trevorrow, a director who is considered a relative newcomer to the scene and has yet to add a blockbuster to his portfolio. However, Jurassic World includes a number of the hottest Hollywood stars in its cast. Among these are Chris Pratt from Guardians of the Galaxy and Bryce Dallas Howard of Terminator Salvation, both of whom are featured in starring roles. With such mega-stars in the cast, producers are looking forward to bringing the franchise back to its glory days when Steven Spielberg was directing them.
A New Perspective
The debut of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 AMG 4Matic® represents a bold new direction with regard to both substance and style. The GLE 450 introduces sensuous lines that include a stretched “greenhouse” with a unique and boldly appealing new grille. Yet at the same time the GLE450 continues to present itself as a tough muscular SUV that features a high beltline and larger than expected wheel wells, perfect for driving in any conditions.
The sleek new looks and high performance 3.0 liter biturbo V6 work together to make the 2016 GLE450 AMG far more responsive and handle better than most other vehicles in its class. The Dynamic Select system offers drivers a choice of five different settings. These allow the driver to adjust steering, engine, and overall efficiency controls with a single flip of a switch. This lets you customize your new GLE450 to meet your exact driving style and alter it at any time based on overall driving conditions.
To coincide with the release of Jurassic World in June, Mercedes-Benz plans to release the 2016 GLE450 AMG 4Matic® in late summer of 2016.
